i wanted to know why japonese people are so keen on blood type. If you read in every description of a character there is his blood type.
So what's the signification of it ? does anybody know ?
for example i'm O+ does this means something in term of my personality ?

The blood type theory of personality is a popular belief in Japan that a person's ABO blood type, is predictive of their personality, temperament, and compatibility with others. Like, those with type A blood tend to be reserved, punctual, and law-abiding, while type Os tend to be more outgoing, passionate, and driven; it is for this reason they are often considered "warrior" spirits. Type Bs are said to be loners and self-sufficient, as "hunters," while ABs are said to be serious and solitary by nature.

i've read it before... but didn't believe it cause all that it says about my blood type is way untrue... im a type O (outgoing, passionate, and driven) and im exactly the opposite of those >_>

well, it doesn't mean that all type O are like that (as well as type A and B).. perhaps it's just a generalized kind of thinking, born out of coincidence or something like it...  :blob9:

Wow, I had no idea about that blood thing... It's very interesting... I'm a B+... so I'm a loner and I'm self-sufficient... If I read this last year, I'd say that I'm the exact opposite, but apparently it reads into the future (when we mature) 'cause NOW I'm exactly like what it says...

Oh, and I've been meaning to ask this for quite a while but never got around to asking it... What does it mean to have positive or negative blood? Like B+ or B- . Can anyone tell me?
And I've forgotten... which blood is the one where you can receive all blood but not give, and which is the one where you can give to all blood but not receive? I remember that there was one each, but can't quite remember what blood...

Has anyone seen Blood+(anime) ?

so + or - is a "resus" (I think it's that in english...). But I can't really explain it in english.
When you can give it to everybody you are O- (you can only receive blood O- it means that you don't have any resus or particularity on your "globules" (in french))
and when you can have all sort of blood you are AB+.
In fact the order to receive blood is: AB+, AB-, B+=A+ , B-=A- , O+ , O-

what you said was right Marma. Bloods have different types according to the presence or absence of certain antigenic substances in the red blood cells of the blood. Example, if you have the A antigen, then you are type A, B if ypu have the B antigen, AB if you both have the A and B antigen and O if you have no antigen. There are actually two blood group systems, which are ABO blood group system and the Rhesus blood group system. ABO is the most common system, but if the blood contains what is called the RhD antigen (Rhesus factor or Rhesus D antigen), the Rhesus blood group system is already involved and that is already where they apply the terminologies of A positive, B negative and so on.

About Blood +...hmmm... well, if you have already previewsly watched Blood: the Last Vampire, it would be easier for you to understand the plot of this sequel. But then let's just say that Blood the Last Vampire was set in the timeline of before the Vietnam war. in reference to that, Blood+ was set after the vietnam war after the protagonist, Saya, hibernated. So basically, Blood+ is set decades after the events of Blood: The Last Vampire. Under the care of her adoptive family, Saya Otonashi has been living the life of an anemic and amnesiac, but otherwise ordinary schoolgirl. Saya?s happy life is shattered when she is attacked by a chiroptera, and learns that she is the only one who can defeat them. Armed with her sword, Saya embarks on a journey with her family, allies and faithful servant, Haji, to rid the world of Chiroptera and rediscover her identity.

PS: this anime's got more twists than you might have initially thought. It's good, and the opening song, Aozora no Namida is just so cool!!! I loved it!!!

Nuh uh. O-? Lucky, you've got the awesome blood type. O- is the universal blood type and that's the type they keep at the hospitals for refills until they can get the right types.

LOL if you're short on money you can just donate blood to the hospitals
