eh, hope I'm not violating some rule about posting in an old thread.....I looked for anything about posting in an old thread but didn't find anything *shrugs* xD

Okay........first off theres a lot of bands that are getting pretty popular in the states. Take Diru (Dir En Grey)
QuoteWhile two concert dates in Japan had to be postponed, Dir en grey was still able to join Korn's Family Values Tour.
And X Japan recently created and performed the ending song for Saw IV, albeit in english. And this site: http://jrockrevolution.com/ is really creating more interest in J-rock and J-music in general.

All the original songs for anime is being kept in the licensing process so (for example) naru-tards are wanting the theme songs because they want all things naruto. Then they get interested in the artists and maybe becomes a fan of them. ^O^

More on Diru:
QuoteIn February, Dir en grey went on its first North American headlining tour, visiting seventeen cities while its sixth full-length album, The Marrow of a Bone, was released on February 7 in Japan, and in the United States and Europe in the following months. From May to July, the group opened during a United States tour of Deftones and afterwards did another European tour, which included their debut shows in Denmark, Finland, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well as several festival performances across the continent, including Ankkarock, M'era Luna Festival and Wacken Open Air.[18]

The group went on another international tour in September, titled after its most recent single "Dozing Green", beginning in Japan, and continuing in Europe, including their first performance in The Netherlands and Switzerland. In late November, Dir en grey opened two shows for Linkin Park at Saitama Super Arena and in December performed another Japan tour with 10 Years as support act. Commemorating Dir en grey's tenth anniversary as a band, two greatest hits compilations, titled Decade 1998-2002 and Decade 2003-2007 respectively, were released on December 19.

Not that I'm a total fan of Diru, I like some of their stuff but I can't take the screaming. >.>

One artist that I'm becoming fan of (Superfly) does a lot of her songs in English. Including Rhiannon (originally Stevie Nicks sung it) and did a very good job of it^^
But theres also BoA and Hyde and, well, lots of artists that are becoming popular just cuz of anime. I know that BoA sings in Korean, Japanese and English(even tho its sounds bad) so her popularity ranking is getting really international.
Oh, yah. There was also a combo thing done: Yuna Ito ? Celine Dion - Anata ga Iru Kagiri~A World To Believe In~[2008.01.16](taken from my music files ;P )

.....think I'll stop now....^^;;
