hello everybody! i have finally registered to be able to come and speak with you, when i will have a little time (phD, so not so often).
I want to thank Goldlilys for this great site and for making all these manga available! i admire your dedication and your efforts..... so in exchange, i will try to take part in this forum.
I hpe the system of manga download will stay the same...
let us stop the seriousness.... i am a manga and anime addict, with a peculiar fondness for shoujo, but i crave all kind of manga all the same (shonen, yaoi and so on). some of my favorites : tokyo crazy paradise and Skip beat, shin angyo onshi, hanakimi, mars, basara....
i hpe to be eable to exchange lots of things with you!
Sophie
Ooh, PhD of what? Hehe, here's me going for my first B.S. haha I can't wait to get started.
Well, have fun here don't procrastinate too much.
Sorry i did not respond previously... too busy with my pH D.... I am a biology pHD student, genome evolution to be more precise (perhaps you have heard about transposable elements? if not, do not fret, except for biologists, nobody knows about them but they can cause cancer, and other nasty consequences in the genome..)
I am the one from the chatbox, and as you see i do not often come to the forum :crybaby2: , but try to when i have a little time to spend to discuss with other maanga/anime maniac... :icon_flower:
Thank you for everything everybody!
o_O
ok...
lol... *doesn't understand anything*
i'm going to have my bs next year after i graduate from hs... ^__^
Pauline... how do you get you B.S. after graduating high school?
phD? Haha I like how you wrote pH, Mielikki. Hahaha, that would be if you were writing about acidity. Hahaha. That's funny. We've got a science geek, don't worry I shall be joining ou soon enough. As long as I don't kill myself in the labs. :icon_thumleft:
Sorry :icon_flower: i made a mistake... i am french you lnow, and still not used to write Ph. D. the correct way (we say "doctorat" or "th?se", the french for thesis....)
I am more used to write pH for that is the same word in french and english (acid/base....).
Also, i do not always understand all theinitials for all the diploms that you speak about.... if only there would be an harmonization of all the degrees and diplom in the world (we can always dream...)....
For information, in France a (scientific) thesis is about 3 years long, in biology often 4 years long.... For non-scientific thesis, it can last for more than 10 years.... the system are entirely different between scientific and non-scientific ones...
Whoooa. Haha, I meant no offense of course, it was just that it made it all the more obvious you were a science student. Well, let's see the diplomas don't seem to work that way. As far as I know after high school and if a student decides to go to college he or she would spend for years as an undergraduate student to obtain either a B.A. (Bachelors of Associates) or a B.S. (Bachelor's of Science) I know there's a difference between the two. I read it somewhere, but I don't remember what the differences was, but that's okay.
Anyways most undergrad programs take four years before you can take a graduate program (masters, medical school, law school ets.) However some school offer up seven year programs that instead of taking four years of undergrad and then four years of med. school to be a doctor you can take premed four three years before moving onto med school. THe problem is you usually don't get a degree in the middle and you don't graduate... You'd have schooling for seven years straight.
I hope I explained that alright.

woops...sorry... >_<
i'll be taking my bs next year... that's what i meant... ^_^;
Sorry, i did not explain correctly : 3 to 4 years is the usual duration for a scientific thesis... but to begin a thesis, you have to get before your "master", so that means that you need to have studied for at least 5 years (get your license, 3 years, then your master, 2 years...) after high school (in a university or other schools). So at the end of a scientific thesis, you will have studied for at least 8 years....
Currently, 3rd-year Ph.D. student :hello: so i feel a bit old after saying all that :love5:
thank you for the explanation, i guess that now i will be able to better understand when people speak about their studies and do on....
