As 'official' as this may look it will be highly unlikely that Anime will ever be banned. It's not like someone has never disagreed with something, and the liklihood that a form of entertainment that's bringing in money will be shut down. The most they can do is censor something (which is always done anyway).

I'll agree it's upsetting, but this isn't something that should shock most people. =( There's always someone upset about something

yeah... it really made me upset...

but i was more upset when i saw the comments... and it reached 7000+ in number...

i was about to comment about it too... but i realized that you should sign it first before doing so... and most of the comments were against the petition...

the stupid people signed the petition just to complain about it... if they really don't want to ban anime they should stop giving their opinions!

Wow. That was interesting. It was a nice waste of life to read that.
The person who wrote that is obviously delusional about some things. Yes, the US has some problems, but to go so far as to say that Anime is the cause of said problems is just too much! If that person wanted to turn to anything it should be that crap that gets aired on T.V and movies. I can almost guarantee that the petition will go NO WHERE. And if, by some chance, it does, the cause couldn't be passed. People have a freedom to watch anime.

That was very annoying.

I totally agree with you guys... i think that person who wrote that is just trying to come up with excuses for the said problems and is just trying to place the blame somewhere else... and i especially hated the way that person refered to Japan.. that's discrimination!!! I think that instead of writing garbage like that, that person should just try to help his/her community in some way instead of blaming animes.. :angry9:

i've let a friend of mine read that petition and she just laughed out loud! she said, 'Are those guys stupid or what? SAVE AMERICA by banning anime?! Gosh, what a sick joke! And those guys who're signing? Are they desperate enough to sign such a thing just to get their signatures on the web? Do they really want to let people around th world know just how stupid they are?'

well, what else can i say? i TOTTALY agree with her!!! :icon_thumleft:, anyways, if they really are against the petition (the guys who're signed), why don't they just start another one saying how much they love anime? i guess that would counter the original petition...hahahaha.... :angel10:

gosh...that was a lot of crap in that petition....a total waste of time trying to save america by banning anime. and the people who signed it are totally stupid if they think it will save america. :triplets: i mean there are a lot of anime's who affect the people who are watching in a good way like when they see a character working hard then reaching their goals.

Have you read the comments, at least the first few. Ha, no one has taken this seriously so you shouldn't either. Hell, people signed it because they've disagreed with it.

Besides if you're signing online it's not official unless you have proof that the signature is yours, usually if you sign up for something like that you need to cough up your social security number or driver's license number or something. The names are fraud, and that makes the petition fraud, it's just something for entertainment, so chill.

Anyways, while we have seem to have come to the same conclusion let's avoid flaming the people who wrote the petition just because you're pissed. It makes us look bad.

well if it makes you feel better I'm a christian too but at least I know not to blame ink on paper for "corrupting" a country. also this guy only pointed out TWO animes out of the whole 1000 that has been liscensed, and the arguments he makes for banning anime seems to sound like he just doesn't like porn o.O
