I've seen animes from all genres, some will make you laugh, angry or even make you cry. The ones that truly touched my heart were the animes that made me cry because you know, you just get so attached to the characters that when they lose something, its like you feel their pain. Well, as I can remember in the top of my head right now, the saddest moments where I got teary eyed, or sobbed my eyes out were: (in order)

1) Hikaru no Go - I cried along with Hikaru when he finally realized that Sai disappeared and will never come back

2) Full Moon wo Sagashite - Watching the beginning till the middle, didn't think that the anime was gonna go melodramatic until Eichi-kun was pronounced dead even before Mitsuki was able to confess her love to him. Dang, all that waiting to grow up and becoming a singer only to find out that the one you love is already dead. Thank god for the ending though or this anime could have been my worst anime ever

3) Fruits Basket - Many of the fruits basket stories were really sad, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be the bunny, Momiji. His mom's memory was erased so that she wouldn't call him a monster. And come on, Momiji is too cute.

4) Sailormoon S1- Darien and Sailormoon finding out each others real identity (I loved the american song that goes along with it)

5) Cardcaptor Sakura - The very ending when Shaoran confesses his love to Sakura and vice versa. Such a touching moment.

I totally agree with Momiji's story.

Ayashi no Ceres - The very ending is so sad ! No one cries but we can guess that Toya will soon die, leaving Aya and their daughter all by themselves.

Fushigi Yuugi - When Miaki realized she lost Tamahome (once when he became bad and once when he refuses to be with her to protect her)
The end justifies the means.

aaaaw... so that will be the ending of hikaru no go T_T
lol... i haven't finished it yet... stupid me for not reading the warning xD

yeah... definitely fruits basket. The story of the cute little bunny, Momiji. I was rather pissed with the father allowing those things to happen. Yeah, I blame the father. xD

Saikano is also really sad. One of the sad and touching moments was when the guy[forgot the name xD] discovered that his girlfriend was kidnapped and forced to be a military weapon. >.<

I also agree with Full Moon wo Sagashite. I hated it when eichi-kun was actually dead. >.>
